Working Hard for Blackburn

Statement on Blackburn Rovers F.C.

The situation at Blackburn Rovers Football Club is a great concern to all fans of the club and the people of Blackburn generally.
The start of the season has seen 3 straight losses and the early indicators show that it’s going to be a long season for the club with a possible relegation battle ahead.
I have been inundated with emails from concerned fans about the way the club is being run at present. The club ownership don’t appear to be investing in the club to an adequate level and we’re yet to hear plans on how the club’s fortunes will be turned around in the short or long term.
It seems like every year the club announces more losses, with the debt bill now totals over £100 million.
Over the next few days I will be writing to Blackburn Rovers' directors to raise my concerns directly and reaching out to supporter groups and invite them to meet with me to discuss the ongoing situation at the club.
Blackburn Rovers is a great asset to our town, providing entertainment to thousands of fans each week, is large employer in the town and big match days bring customers to local businesses. A successful Blackburn Rovers is in our town's interest.
We all want to see Blackburn Rovers, a club with such a rich history and such a large supporter base back in the Premier League where they belong, sadly, the Premier League seems far away at present.
I’ll be sure to keep constituents updated and if you have concerns about club, please email me at kate.hollern.mp@parliament.uk.

Martin Theater – Crawl back into the little hole just popped out of, this is the Blackburn MP representing the interests of the people of the town she represents. If the tables were turned and your pathetic little racist club (shameful treatment of your “star” striker that) was being dismantled by its so called owners you’d be expecting the same support. mugs, thugs bigots and fkwts you lot.

Bandwagon jumping and drama-queenery at it’s finest from an MP who should have more important political issues to deal with.

However “providing entertainment to thousands of fans each week” Absolutely correct and long may it continue. UTC

A football club losing football games isn’t really a political issue, is it?

Spin it all you like but you’d serve your constituents better by actually doing constituency work than grandstanding about a relegation battle in a sporting competition.

Kate, thank you so much for taking the time to listen and react to the concerns of BRFC supporters. We all know how busy you are and fully appreciate that your time is at a premium. The fact that you’ve shown concern is commendable and of course, it shows that you realise how important this Club is to our Community. I you were able to secure some answers and guarantees for the future running of the Club, it would be wonderful. Thank you for all your efforts.
